# Albums and sharing

> Browse a project's photos on your phone and share them with homeowners, adjusters, and your team

## Working with the project album

Every project has an **album** — all of its photos and videos on your phone, the same album your team sees on the web. Hundreds of photos stay fast to scroll and new captures appear before they've uploaded. Sharing happens here too: public links, photo report PDFs, QuickBooks, and your camera roll.

### 1. Browse and filter

Open the project, scroll to **Files**, and tap **View album** on the **Album** card (it previews the latest photos and shows the count). Tapping **Done** in the camera lands here too. Everything shows newest-first, with two pills at the top:

* **Layout** — cycle the grid between 1, 2, and 4 photos per row.
* **Filter** — narrow to photos with specific **tags**, photos that are **marked up**, or both.

Each tile carries its scan badge — ✨ for scanned, or a labeled pill while scanning or after a failure. See [Capturing photos and video](/mobile-app/capturing-photos-and-video).

### 2. The photo viewer

Tap a photo to open it full screen. Swipe left and right to move through the album, pinch to zoom, swipe down to dismiss. From the viewer, open the photo's details (title, description, note, tags, address), enter markup mode, leave **comments and reactions** for your team, or **save the photo to your device**. See [Tags, markup, and descriptions](/mobile-app/tags-markup-and-descriptions) and [Notifications and collaboration](/mobile-app/notifications-and-collaboration).

### 3. Add photos from your phone's library

Open the album's **⋯** menu and choose **Add from album** to pick photos and videos from your library. Imports upload and scan like any capture and surface at the top of the album — sorted by when you added them, not when they were taken.

### 4. Select photos in bulk

Selection mode — from the **⋯** menu's **Delete items**, or any share flow that needs a selection — lets you tap photos, with **Select All / Deselect All** in the header. The action you entered with runs on the selection: delete, share as a link, export to PDF, or push to QuickBooks. Deleting asks you to confirm and says exactly what's going ("Delete 2 photos and 1 video?").

### 5. Share

Tap **Share** in the album header.

| ------------------------------------- | -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Share entire album** | Outside your company | Public link to everything in the album; anyone with the link can view, no XBuild account needed |
| **Share specific items** | Outside your company | Same kind of link, but only the photos and videos you pick — items added later never appear on it |
| **Download photos as PDF** | Adjusters, email | Select up to **100 photos**; one photo per page with its details |
| **Share photos to QuickBooks** | Your books | On a project linked to a QuickBooks customer, attach selected photos to the customer record or one of their estimates or invoices. Appears only on linked projects — see [QuickBooks](/connectors/quickbooks). |
| **Share project link with your team** | Teammates | Your phone's share sheet with a link into the project; teammates with the app land on the project page, anyone else gets the web version |

Album links and PDFs both let you choose whether photo **descriptions** are included — see [Photo descriptions](/features/photo-descriptions). For a single photo, **save to device** from the viewer puts it in your camera roll.

### 6. Troubleshooting common issues

* **A photo I just took isn't in the album on the web yet.** It's queued to upload — the phone shows it immediately, the web when the upload lands. See [Offline and syncing](/mobile-app/offline-and-syncing).
* **"Share photos to QuickBooks" isn't in my share sheet.** The project isn't linked to a QuickBooks customer, or the connector isn't set up. See [QuickBooks](/connectors/quickbooks).
* **I can't select more than 100 photos for a PDF.** That's the per-report limit. Filter by tag and export one area per PDF.
* **Someone with the album link can't see the newest photos.** Check the photos have finished uploading, and remember a **specific items** link only shows what was picked when it was created — share a fresh link.
* **I deleted photos but they're still on my camera roll.** Deleting from the album removes photos from the project, not your device — and the reverse for imports.
