Asking well
Rex answers best when a question is narrow. Name the date range, the Location, the customer or job, and what you want back. Compare:- Broad: “How are we doing?”
- Specific: “Which completed jobs at this Location from last quarter have no invoice?”
Questions worth asking
- Which completed jobs have no invoice?
- Which proposals sent this month haven’t been signed?
- What does the CRM show for this customer compared with the project here?
- Which open tasks on this project are past due?
Reading an answer
Review the source links Rex provides. If an answer doesn’t include them, ask Rex which sources it used. Before acting:- Open the linked sources. Confirm the records match what you asked about.
- Read any missing-data notes. Rex may note tools it couldn’t reach or records it couldn’t find, but don’t assume every gap is flagged.
- Don’t read a gap as zero. If a connector didn’t return data, the true number is unknown. An empty result can mean the data wasn’t available.
- Don’t assume freshness. A connector that shows as connected may still be missing recent changes or older records.
When answers come back thin
- Check the selected Location and which Locations are included in the answer. Scope depends on your role and account.
- Ask an Administrator whether Rex has read access to that tool in Settings → Connections. See Rex permissions.
- Check the connector itself in the connectors overview; connections can expire.
- Start a New conversation if earlier context is steering answers.
